Filipinos are the second largest immigrant group in the United States after immigrants from Mexico. Filipinos comprise the largest number of Asian immigrants to the US from 1981-1998.

An average of 57,000 Filipino immigrants enter the U.S. per year.
(This figure does not include those who come to the United States to work on a temporary basis. In most cases these workers are allowed to stay in the country to work for up to six years.
