ABS-CBN Global, Star Cinema bring One More Chance to Vancouver and Ontario
5th John Lloyd Cruz-Bea Alonzo starrer’s world tour to hit Canada for the holidays

REDWOOD CITY, CA, November 26, 2007 – After scoring mega-success recently with the theatrical release of "A Love Story" in the U.S. and Canada, ABS-CBN Global's Starry Starry Store, in partnership with Star Cinema, is bringing another romance drama to the region with "One More Chance", starring one of the hottest loveteams in the Philippines, John Lloyd Cruz and Bea Alonzo.

The film screens in Vancouver from December 8-9, and in North York (Ontario) from December 14 to 20. The Canada screenings follow theater runs in San Francisco, Seattle, Las Vegas, Los Angeles and San Diego in the U.S.

"One More Chance" is the fifth movie team-up of John Lloyd and Bea who have been compared by "The Buzz" co-host Cristy Fermin to Christopher de Leon and Vilma Santos: the two were never sweethearts but their team-up in films has been among the most successful and acclaimed in Philippine cinema. Critics have credited this to the perfect screen chemistry of John Lloyd and Bea and their professional dedication to their craft.

In their new film, John Lloyd plays Popoy, an engineer, while Bea plays Basha, an architect. Theirs is a love story that began back when they were college students who have become inseparable ever since. Their families loved them, they shared friends, and they eventually worked in the same firm. They were planning a future together. There is no Popoy without a Basha and vice versa. At least in Popoy's mind. For inside Basha is a deep desire for space to grow on her own and make her own mark. She breaks up with Popoy. She transfers to another company only to realize how much Popoy means to her, especially when she sees him going out with other girls already. Would a second crack at love still be possible?

"One More Chance" boasts of a fine team behind it with Cathy Garcia-Molina at the helm (she also directed "Close to You", another John Lloyd-Bea starrer), screenwriter Vanessa Valdez (whose credits include "A Love Story") and the supporting cast that includes Derek Ramsay, Maja Salvador, Dimples Romana, Nikki Gil, Janus del Prado, James Blanco, Ahron Villena, Nanette Inventor, Melissa Mendez, Bodgie Pascua, Brod Pete, and Denise Joaquin. Two new faces are introduced: former "Pinoy Big Brother Season 2" housemates Beatriz Saw and Robert Woods.
