A year after being launched to serve viewers in the Philippines, dzMM radio’s television service is now available to Filipinos abroad and especially in the United States via the Internet.
ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation Vice-President for Manila Radio Division Peter Musngi said dzMM TeleRadyo has now been made available on the ABS-CBN's TFCNow Web site (www.abs-cbnnow.com).
TFCNow is a video and audio streaming subscription service on the Internet that provides Filipinos worldwide with access to shows from ABS-CBN.
"Radio must evolve for it to attract all potential audience and listeners, especially the ‘millenials’ worldwide… By going into TeleRadyo, dzMM is now able to reach Filipinos who are residing outside of the Philippines," Musngi was quoted in a statement as saying.
Aside from its worldwide roll-out, dzMM will launch its official website within the next couple of months, which will have a news page and a section for user-generated content, according to station manager Angelo Palmones.
Aside from the TFCNow service and Web site launch, dzMM also has a series of projects for 2008: Turn Trash into Cash, a recycling program to benefit Bantay Kalikasan; Papremyo sa Kalendaryo, an on-air raffle promo; Buntis Congress, a summit focusing on the health and safety of pregnant mothers; and Basketball Patrol, a series of exhibition games featuring celebrities and talents of ABS-CBN’s Manila radio stations dzMM and 101.9 For Life.
This month, dzMM will also be promoting TeleRadyo in California by participating in the World Caravan organized by the Philippine Tourism Authority.
